The Chicago Half Marathon helps fundraise for those battling Crohn's Disease and Colitis.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Crohn's Disease and Colitis are two painful, debilitating digestive diseases. On June 7, thousands of runners will help raise funds for those battling these diseases through the 2014 Michelob ULTRA Chicago 13.1 Marathon, produced and presented by Life Time. The race takes place along the lakeshore near the South Shore Cultural Center.

Craig Comins, National Director of Team Challenge, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's endurance training and fundraising program, and Scott Hutmacher, race spokesperson, joined us live from the finish line during our ABC 7 Eyewitness News Saturday Morning to explain how the event helps.

If this inspired you, you can sign up with Team Challenge to benefit the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation for next year's 13.1 race. Also, Life Time plans a Chicago Half Marathon on Sept. 6 to benefit Lurie's Children's Hospital.
