CHICAGO (WLS) -- Some Chicago police officers received some extra protection in the form of new bulletproof vests Monday, thanks to the generosity of strangers.
Cops from the city's Area North districts picked up their gear at the police station on West Grand.
The vests were purchased with money donated to the "Get Behind the Vest" campaign.
Its goal is to buy 8,000 replacement bulletproof vests for Chicago police officers.
