CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is working to raise $4 million to replace 8,000 outdated bullet-proof vests currently being used by Chicago police. It's part of their "Get Behind the Vest" initiative.
On Sunday, Feb. 22, Ald. Matthew O'Shea is hosting a pancake breakfast at St. Christina School from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. to raise money for the fund.
Ald. O'Shea, Julie Harrigan, owner of the Original Pancake House in Beverly, and Joan Knight, widow of Officer John Knight, stopped by the ABC7 studios to show us how the pancake breakfast will help.
