CHICAGO (WLS) -- A person was taken into custody after a shooting in Chicago's Belmont Central neighborhood led to a short police chase.
Officers responded to a call of two people shot near West Grand and North Mango avenues around 2:50 a.m. Monday.
When they arrived, they found two men, ages 34 and 35, wounded outside a bar. The younger man was shot in the abdomen. The older man was shot in the back twice.
Police saw the suspect running from the scene and gave chase. An officer fired shots in the 2200-block of North Major Avenue, but the suspect was not struck. They caught the suspect in a backyard nearby.
The older man was listed in serious condition, but hospital information and additional details were not immediately available.
Charges are pending against the suspect, police said.
