Boy, 13, shot and critically injured in Washington Heights

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said a 13-year-old boy was shot and critically injured in the city's Washington Heights neighborhood Monday evening.

Police said the boy was in the backyard of a home in the 1000 block of 103rd when someone fired several shots, striking the boy in the chest. He was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition.

Area South Detectives are investigating. No one is in custody.
