Man found shot to death in Brainerd

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A homicide investigation is underway after man was found fatally shot in Chicago's Brainerd neighborhood Monday morning.

Officers were called to the 9000-block of South Aberdeen Street around 6 a.m. Tuesday. They found the victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not been released.

Investigators set up crime tape and took photos of the scene Tuesday morning.

Police did not release further details.
