Man shot while driving in Washington Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 37-year-old man was shot in Chicago's Washington Park neighborhood overnight.

The victim was driving near East 58th Street and South Wabash Avenue around 12:40 a.m. Thursday when police said he heard shots and realized he had been wounded in his right side. A source said several casings were on the ground near the scene.

He drove himself to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Investigators said there is no word yet on a motive.
