CHICAGO (WLS) -- When Shari Runner was named the president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League, she acknowledged that this comes during a time of turmoil.
The Urban League has been around for nearly a century working to help people find jobs, affordable housing, educational opportunities and more.
The organization states that a strong African American community makes a stronger Chicago. But now, the Urban League is also dealing with other issues such as gun violence and police relations.
Runner joins us this week on Newsviews to talk more about these issues.
