Early taste of spring won't last long
Chicago weather officially hit 70 degrees Monday at O'Hare Airport, but colder air is on the way for the rest of the week.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Spring doesn't officially arrive until Friday, but some areas saw temperatures in the 70s Monday afternoon. Enjoy it while it lasts though, because colder air is on the way.

"I love it. I wish could have worn shorts today, but my mom talked me into wearing this," said Ahmanda Sanford, who was wearing pants and a jacket.

There were plenty of people still dressed in layers as they strolled the Magnificent Mile, but they were in no hurry to go inside. In fact, they wanted to stay outdoors in the 70-degree weather as long as possible.

"It's emotionally, physically, it's all just healthy," said Andrew Nicodem.

Andrew and Marianna Nicodem took the day off to just walk around, trying to put some distance between themselves and the brutally cold winter.

"We had a case of cabin fever so we are excited to be outside. We were cooped up," Marianna Nicodem said.

Breanne Kozey and her friends made the most of the weather by dining al fresco.

"We had already taken the day off cause our friends are in town so we decided, let's leave our jackets at home and come out here," Kozey said.

Adam Kann finds this weather a lot more agreeable for taking his dog Bailey for a walk, although it seems Bailey is prepared to go out in any kind of weather.

"He loves the winter, I don't love the winter. The snow, he buries his head into it and keeps us out as long as he can," Kann said.

But the spring-like weather won't last long. By Tuesday morning, temperatures will start off in the mid-to-upper 30s. Tuesday's highs will only make it into the 40s, which is seasonable for mid-March.
