Man charged with child abduction, luring in Oak Lawn

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- A man was charged with child abduction and luring Tuesday after allegedly trying to lure a teenage girl in south west suburban Oak Lawn, police said.

Daniel Carr, 35, tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into his car while she was walking past a parking lot in the 9000-block of Cicero Avenue Sunday afternoon, police said. The girl took a picture of Carr's license plate before running away and contacting police.

The girl later identified Carr as the owner of the vehicle from the license plate she provided to police.

Carr appeared in bond court Wednesday. His bail was set at $300,000.
