CHICAGO (WLS) -- With Christmas over, many homes may be looking to dispose of their Christmas trees but the city of Chicago's tree recycling doesn't begin until January 4.

Twenty-three park district locations will accept the trees for recycling through Jan. 18.

Forestry crews will then chip the Christmas trees into mulch.

Limited amounts of mulch will be available for pick up starting on Jan. 10.
