Man charged in fatal Hyatt hotel lobby shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Courtney Taylor in the lobby of a Hyatt hotel in the South Loop neighborhood, police said Saturday.

Armonte Hooper is accused of shooting Taylor early Jan. 23 at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Hotel.

Taylor, 26, was attending a function at the hotel when he tried to break up a fight when one of the men pulled out a gun and fired, shooting him in the head, witnesses said.
