CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer has been stripped of his police powers as the department investigates a claim of sexual assault, officials said.
The Chicago Police Department told ABC7 Eyewitness News the officer was on duty Sunday when he was accused of assault by a male suspect he was guarding at a hospital.
The department said the allegations are being taken very seriously, and the officer was immediately suspended as detectives conduct an investigation.
