LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WLS) -- New sightings of the teen couple on a crime spree, Dalton Hayes, 18, and Cheyenne Phillips,13, have been reported in Alabama, Florida and Texas.
The pair have stayed one step ahead of authorities for 13 days.
Their apparent crime spree stretches from their home state of Hentucky to the Carolinas and Georgia. The young outlaws have allegedly broken into homes, forged stolen checks and stolen three pick-up trucks, the last one with two loaded guns inside.
"We are trying to stop the worst case scenario," said Sheriff Norman Chaffins of Grayson County, Kentucky. "And that is police get in pursuit and Dalton flees and hurts her or himself."
On Jan. 3, Hayes announced the couple's engagement on Facebook. The next day, Hayes's mother says she confronted Phillips who she says had been lying about her age, telling the family she was 19.
"I texted Cheyenne and said the police are looking for you, she says why, I said they say evidently you're under age," Tammy Martin said.
The parents of both teens are now pleading for their children to give themselves up before someone gets hurt.
