CHICAGO (WLS) -- A special gathered was held in Chicago's Mount Greenwood neighborhood Friday, outside the home of a fallen firefighter.

The city renamed the block at 105th and Hamlin after firefighter Dan Capuano. Capuano died in the winter of 2015 after falling down an unmarked elevator shaft while fighting a fire inside a South Side warehouse.

He was a 15-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department and is survived by his wife and their three children.
