DES PLAINES, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in northwest suburban Des Plaines are investigating a body found in a home in the High Ridge Knolls subdivision.

Des Plaines Police Chief William Kushner said the incident was confined to a single home and there is no danger to the community.

Investigators combed through the suburban home Thursday night. The crime scene command van was a startling sight for neighbors.

"This is not normal for our neighborhood. It's a very quiet area," said Teresa Walsh, neighbor.

Police arrived around midday to the house on Beau Drive.

Neighbors said they saw a man being wheeled away on a gurney, another man in handcuffs and a woman who appeared distraught and left in an ambulance.

"There was someone outside obviously needing medical attention. And the cops just started kind of swarming all over the place. It was something out of a movie," said Jennifer Winslow, neighbor.

Sources said at least one man is dead, and identified him as a male resident of the home.

"You see these neighbors. They say hi to you when you walk by, and it's like all of a sudden this happens," Walsh said.

Sources tell ABC7 Eyewitness News the man who died worked as a musician and has lived at the home for a few years. Neighbors say they've never seen police at the house in the past.
