ALGONQUIN, Ill. (WLS) -- An Algonquin family's dog was seriously hurt Wednesday when a rock flew into their living room window.

The dog, named Duke, sustained serious facial and skull injuries as well as a broken pelvis.

The family said a landscaper's mower sent the rock flying. Now, the company is refusing to pay for the medical bills.

"Called them and said are you going to take ownership of it and I think the CEO was probably panicking and said it was a bullet and then he hung up," said the dog's owner, Sebastian Bachara.

The landscaper said it is letting an insurance company handle the case.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise money for Duke's care.
