Teen shot outside Dolton gas station

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Police say a teenager was shot in the leg in south suburban Dolton Tuesday afternoon, just a few yards away from a police officer.

A Dolton police officer was on routine patrol when he heard several shots outside a gas station on Sibley Boulevard and Greenwood.

The officer responded to scene and applied a tourniquet to help slow the bleeding until paramedics arrived. Police said the boy is expected to be OK.
