Earthquake hits Downstate Illinois

No injuries in downstate earthquake.

FAIRFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A 3.4-magnitude earthquake hit Downstate Illinois Friday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred around 7:30 p.m. near Fairfield, about 120 miles southeast of Springfield.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
