NIU task force proactive on sexual assault prevention

DEKALB, Ill. (WLS) -- Northern Illinois University has formed a task force to implement White House recommendations on sexual assault prevention.

The 20 members met for the first time this week and are expected to do so regularly over the next three months.

University President Doug Baker says he created the task force because he wanted NIU to be proactive on the issue.

Recommendations for strengthening the university's sexual assault policies are due in October.
