CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- Crystal Lake police said an elderly man who was riding his bicycle was seriously injured in a reported hit-and-run incident in which he was struck by a car Wednesday.
Police said they received a call reporting a hit-and-run at about 2:10 p.m. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found a man in his 70s on the road. The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment with serious injuries, police said.
Police said initial reports said the man was struck by a car, but those reports have not yet been confirmed. Witnesses said they saw a small silver sedan, driven by a white male wearing a neon colored shirt, in the immediate vicinity after the victim was discovered in the road, which left before police arrived.
