Tom Cruise shakes hands, takes selfies with Chicago audience
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tom Cruise made a cameo appearance -- at a Chicago movie theater! Cruise showed up unannounced at ICON Theater in the South Loop for the preview screening of "Edge of Tomorrow."
Not only were audience members surprised, so was Windy City LIVE producer David Plummer, who was tapped to introduce Cruise before the movie. He learned Cruise was coming to town about an hour and a half before the show started.
"They kept thanking me for being able to do it. I was like, 'Are you kidding? This is amazing," Plummer said.
Plummer traveled to London for the world premiere of the sci-fi thriller, where he interviewed Cruise and co-star Emily Blunt.
Cruise signed autographs and took photos with fans at the theater. He posted a photograph with fans to Twitter.
"Edge of Tomorrow" opens next week, and Plummer's interview with Cruise and Blunt airs on Tuesday on Windy City LIVE.
