CHICAGO (WLS) -- One of Chicago's signature dishes will be on full display August 5-7, 2016 for the 4th Annual Chicago Hot Dog Fest. The event is presented by the Chicago History Museum in Lincoln Park. You can try the classic Chicago-style hot dog from vendors Byron's Hot Dogs, Flashy Hot Dogs, Fatso's Last Stand, Frank Meats Patty and many more.
As well as trying several different hot dogs, the three-day family friendly celebration also brings bands and hot dog historians to share the history of the local cuisine. Families and kids are also invited to celebrate with craft activities, rides, face-painting and kid-friendly musical entertainment. Russell Lewis, Chief Historian at the Chicago History Museum, and Robert Magiet, the owner of Fatso's Last Stand, joined ABC 7 Eyewitness News to talk about the Chicago Hot Dog Fest, and to show how to create your own Chicago-style hot dog at home.
