CHICAGO (WLS) -- The owner of Chicago's popular Garrett Popcorn Shops is being sued for copyright infringement over their "Chicago Mix" popcorn confection.

Minnesota-based Candyland Inc. filed the federal suit against Garrett and two other companies claiming they illegally call their popcorn "Chicago Mix."

Candyland trademarked the name "Chicago Mix" in 1992 according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
