Man's body found along Cline Avenue in Gary

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- A death investigation is underway Wednesday after a man's body was found along Cline Avenue in Gary.

Officials said workers discovered the body 20 feet from the roadway along Cline Avenue near 5th Avenue while placing signage for road work. The body had apparently been there for some time.

The body has not yet been identified. Police said they suspect foul play, but did not offer further details.

The Gary Police Department, the Lake County sheriff's office and the Gary Metro Homicide Unit are investigating.
