Person found dead in Gary after suspicious garage fire

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- A person was found dead inside a garage that caught fire in Gary, Indiana.

Firefighters responded to a home in the 1800-block of Delaware Street around 7 a.m. Thursday. After the fire was extinguished, they found a person inside.

Police said foul play is suspected. Everyone who lives in the home has been accounted for and the residents told officers they do not use the garage.

The victim has not been identified. The incident is under investigation.
