17-year-old girl dies after Harvey shooting

HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) -- A 17-year-old girl has died after getting shot in the head in south suburban Harvey last week.

The shooting happened Wednesday night near 146th and Halsted when police say someone went into an apartment complex looking for drugs.

A short time later, eight rounds were fired into one of the units. Two people were shot.

The second victim is recovering.

Police say a person of interest is in custody but charges have not been filed.
