CHICAGO (WLS) -- An acid leak coming from a truck on the city's Near West Side was secured Wednesday night, but Ashland Avenue remained closed at Roosevelt Road until Thursday morning.

Ashland remained closed through Wednesday evening while hazmat teams cleaned the area and removed the truck.

Roosevelt Road was temporarily closed due to the incident during the height of the Wednesday evening rush. The CTA announced Thursday morning that temporary reroutes of both the Ashland and Roosevelt buses were over.
