College students are apparently drinking more than their peers who are not in college, according to a study.

The behavior can lead to academic problems, high-risk sexual behavior and violence, according to researchers from the Online Journal of Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental research.

The study also found that students were not referred to campus health center for alcohol screenings or intervention programs.
