High-speed chase ends in crash in south suburbs

CALUMET PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A high-speed chase that started in south suburban Calumet Park ended in a crash in nearby Riverdale early Thursday morning. Police are searching for a person who ran from the scene.

Calumet Park police apparently pursued the vehicle because they thought someone was in the trunk. That didn't turn out to be true. The chase went all the way to I-57 and ended in a wreck near 142nd and Halsted streets.

There were three people were in the car. Two of them were arrested and one ran away. The hunt is still on for that person.
