Cicero home destroyed in extra-alarm fire

CICERO (WLS) -- An extra-alarm fire destroyed a home in the 3600-block of South 61st Avenue in west suburban Cicero.

The house was fully engulfed in flames just after 3:15 a.m. Wednesday. The fire burned throughout the house, causing walls to burn down and part of the roof to collapse.

Fire officials said departments from several surrounding cities assisted the Cicero response.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
