ABC7's Frank Mathie tries indoor skydiving. Or does he?

ROSEMONT, Ill. (WLS) -- Daredevils can soar without jumping out of the plane- or even going outside! iFLY opened recently in Rosemont at the MB Financial Park.

"iFLY is an indoor skydiving simulator. It's a vertical wind tunnel where you simulate the experience of skydiving. You actually fly," Joe Conant, general manager at iFLY Chicago, said.

Professional instructors at iFLY show people how to use the wind tunnel after a short classroom session and video.

"We have four wind turbines in the ceiling at 350 horsepower each. And they send up air through the wind tunnel. And that air speed of between 100 and 200 miles an hour holds you up in the air," Conant said.

Between you and what looks like a bottomless pit- a mesh trampoline.

The first two flights are $70. The more experience you get, the cheaper the rate. Check it out at http://chicago.iflyworld.com/.
