Survey Questions (Character limit of 2,000 per response)

1. What is the most important issue that you will address in your ward?

Public Safety which helps stimulate greater business activity by providing a safer environment for existing business owners and those willing to invest in our community. This would not only benefit business but would provide safety and an improved quality of life to the residents of the ward. The biggest concern I hear from the residents is too much gang activity and lack of resources for our youth.

2. What are your plans for helping fight crime in your ward?

Provide community development by using resources to help create a youth center that will be beneficial to everyone in the ward. I will work on implementing a Street Intervention Youth Program to intercede with the gangs in the area. Also, I would occupy the empty lots in the ward with new developments and a homeless shelter. This will allow both economic and community development into the ward and it will create a safer environment for the residents and potential business investors. I would encourage employers to hire local residents by using my aldermanic office as a conduit for residents seeking employment in the ward.

3. What, if any, city assets would you consider privatizing to raise money?

None, that is absolutely out of the question. I do not believe in privatizing any of our assets.

4. Do you support or oppose the vote to increase the minimum wage in several steps to $13 an hour by 2019?

I support the minimum wage increase because it will help those struggling financially to make a decent living wage.

5. Are you in favor of Chicago's Red Light Camera program?

No, I am not in favor of the Red Light Camera program; it has not proven to prevent accidents on the contrary they have been the reason of many accidents. They are placed strategically in blighted areas and bombard the people with another financial obligation. It is a way to bring revenue to certain groups and rob from the least that could least afford it.
