Woodstock man accused of sexually assaulting family member

Jose J. Vega, 26, was arrested Thursday by Woodstock detectives and charged with six counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, police said.

Police began an investigation April 17 after it was reported that Vega allegedly assaulted a family member on numerous occasions dating back to October 2008, officials said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant and took Vega into custody Thursday at his Woodstock residence.

Vega is being held at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility.
