CHICAGO (WLS) -- Linda Yu was presented with a lifetime achievement award today by the Secretary of State's office for her long journalism career in Chicago and here at ABC7.
She was one of several Chicagoans honored during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Other honorees today included the Honorable Judge Jessica Arong O'Brien, who was honored with the Judge Laura C. Liu Trailblazer Award, Dr. Nguyen-Trung Hieu, founding director of the Asian-American Coalition of Chicago, Tamin Kim, CEO of the Chade Foundation, and Honorable Jong-Kook Lee, Consul General of the Republic of Korea.
The event at the Thompson Center also featured cultural displays and performances by the Yelin Korean Traditional Drumming Troupe, Chinese Lion Dance by Robert Healy Elementary School, Cool Cat from the Xilin Art Academy as well as the presentation of colors by the Marine Leadership Academy.
