Two women shot while sitting in car in Garfield Park, police say

Two women were shot while sitting inside a car on Chicago's West Side on Friday night, police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the Garfield Park neighborhood near West Huron Street and North Avers Avenue just before 9 p.m.

Police said the women, 31 and 32, were sitting in the gray vehicle when they heard gunshots and realized they had been hit.

Both were expected to be OK.

32-year-old shot in Back of the Yards: CPD

A 32--year-old man was shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on Friday, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at about 6:57 p.m. in the 5200-Block of South Honore Street, police said.

The man was in a backyard when he was shot in the left foot.

He was taken to University of Chicago Hospital and was expected to be OK.

Nobody is in custody.
