Shots fired into Bronzeville business, Chicago police say

Officials said a person started shooting into a business on Monday in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

The shooting happened at about 2:49 a.m. in the 500 block of E. 47th Street, Chicago police said.

A person was outside the business and started shooting through the front entrance, police said.

Nobody was struck by the gunfire, according to police.

The shooter ran off on foot. Nobody is in custody.

Man, 18, killed in Little Village shooting identified by officials

An 18-year-old was shot to death over the Labor Day weekend, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened on Sunday at about 8:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of S. Drake Avenue, Chicago police said.

Police said they found the body of the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

On Monday, he was identified as Morgan Alaniz, 18 of Chicago, by the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Nobody is in custody.

Teen among 2 shot in Ashburn, Chicago police say

A teenager and a man were shot on Labor Day, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened in the Ashburn neighborhood at about 3:11 a.m. in the 8200 block of S. St. Louis Avenue, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head. He was taken to Christ Hospital in serious condition, police said.

A bullet grazed a 43-year-old man's nose; he was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

No other information was available.

Teen among 5 hurt in South Side shooting, Chicago police say

A teenager was critically hurt in a mass shooting during a large gathering on Monday, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at about 1:05 a.m. in the 3600-block of S. Cottage Grove near Ellis Park, Chicago police said.

Police said officers were at the scene of a large gathering when they heard gunshots.

A total of five people were shot, including a 17-year-old boy, according to police.

CPD said officers recovered four firearms. One person of interest was being questioned by police.

A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times, he was taken to an area hospital in crticial condition

A 36-year-old woman was shot in the left leg; a 33-year-old man was shot in the left arm and left leg; a 26-year-old man was shot in the left leg, and a 33-year-old man was shot in the right leg and right arm. They are expected to be OK.
