Election Day 2024: Live results and analysis

The big day is finally here: Tuesday, Nov. 5, is Election Day across the U.S. Millions of people will head to the polls today - joining more than 80 million who already voted early or by mail - to decide who controls everything from the White House to Congress to state and local governments.

All eyes are, of course, on the presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. The election will likely come down to seven key swing states - Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - where the polls are razor-close.

Federal judge rejects RNC lawsuit seeking to block GA voters from hand-returning mail-in ballots

A federal judge has rejected an RNC lawsuit seeking to block some Georgia counties from accepting ballots that were hand-delivered over the weekend and Monday, according to Marc Elias, a lawyer working for Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign.

Judge R. Stan Baker -- who was appointed by former President Donald Trump -- said the lawsuit from Republicans "does not withstand even the most basic level of statutory review and reading comprehension," per Elias.

Republicans had claimed that the seven Georgia counties that were accepting hand-delivered mail-in ballots after the early voting period were violating the law.

By the numbers: Where the economy stands on Election Day

The tumultuous presidential campaign has featured a replacement at the top of the Democratic ticket, two apparent assassination attempts against former President Donald Trump and the unexpected significance of a joke made in the race's final days.

Despite the twists and turns, voters have voiced a consistent priority: the economy matters most. A Gallup poll last month showed that 52% of voters consider the economy an extremely important influence on their choice for president, far outpacing any other concern.

With polls set to close within hours, ABC News spoke with experts to discuss where the economy stands at the conclusion of the race.
