1 seriously injured in Lake Shore Drive crash

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was seriously injured in a four vehicle crash on Lake Shore Drive at 47th, police say.

The crash occurred shortly after midnight Sunday. Police say one person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Southbound lanes were closed for a period overnight while major accidents investigated, but all lanes were open as of 6 a.m.

One of the drivers involved was taken into custody as alcohol was thought to be a factor in the crash, police said.
