LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. (WLS) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested at a north suburban high school on Wednesday, where he went to meet a 15-year-old student for sex, according to police.
Emmanuel A. Perez, 25, of the 200 block of Court of Shorewood in Vernon Hills was taken into custody at 6:15 p.m. when he arrived on the Lincolnshire campus of Stevenson High, according to Lincolnshire police.
He was charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, both felonies, and more charges are possible as the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
Perez and the victim had been communicating electronically and planned to meet at the school, police said. The victim was not present when Perez was arrested.
School officials learned of the meeting and notified police, who also worked with the Lake County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crime Unit.
Perez told officers he was at Stevenson because he was a wrestling coach for Vernon Hills High. Investigators found Perez was a volunteer wrestling coach in Vernon Hills about two years ago, but is not employed or volunteering at the school.
He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $250,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court May 20.
Lincolnshire police will host an Internet safety presentation at 7 p.m. May 27 on social media trends, identifying online predators and protecting children online.
