CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was rescued from the frigid waters of Lake Michigan overnight in the city's North Side, fire officials said.
A female companion is also safe after swimming to shore.
Chicago Fire Department officials say they sent divers and a helicopter to North Avenue Beach around 3 a.m. Saturday. The woman managed to swim to safety and walk home. The man is also expected to recover.
