CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Glendale Heights woman said she can finally sleep again after getting a brand new mattress.

Thanks to her call to the I-Team, we discovered hundreds of similar reports of relatively new mattresses denting and caving.

Jason Knowles:
"It's like you're going to fall out! It's like a ride!"

Tosha Thomas Little: "It's like a cliff! It's horrible."

And that was Thomas Little's second mattress in less than two years. Simmons replaced the first one in March of 2016, without admitting any product defects.

That second mattress was replaced a few weeks ago.

"For the most part it seems much better, it's different, you can tell when you sit on it and when you get up it still resumes its shape," Thomas Little said.

Simmons sent it after Thomas Little filled out a claim and sent pictures, but she said she wasn't getting answers until she called the I-Team. Simmons said it did not have a record of her request before the I-Team became involved.

Last month, the I-Team uncovered hundreds of similar complaints about Simmons mattresses and other brands.

"We strive to ensure that every customer is satisfied with their Beautyrest purchase, and occasionally this necessitates the replacement of a customer's existing mattress... Beautyrest mattresses undergo extensive testing, and we are confident in the performance of our products, which provide high-quality sleep to millions of people around the world," said Simmons Bedding.

Some industry experts said the denting problem can occur in mattresses that have low density or lighter foams, which give mattresses a "fluffy" look.
