Several displaced by Maywood apartment building fire

MAYWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- No one was injured after an apartment building in west suburban Maywood went up in flames overnight.

Firefighters responded to the blaze in the 0-100 block of South 20th Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Monday. Smoke was seen billowing out of the roof and flames were shooting out of the windows.

A large portion of the rear porch collapsed, making it difficult for firefighters to get inside the two-unit apartment building. No one was hurt, but several residents have been displaced.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
