Chicago Bulls' Nikola Mirotic undergoes appendectomy

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Bulls' forward Nikola Mirotic underwent an appendectomy Wednesday after team officials say he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis.

The surgery went as expected, team officials said, and Mirotic is expected to return after the All Star Break. He did not accompany the Bulls on their trip to Los Angeles as a result of the surgery.
