Brothers-in-law die in Munster murder-suicide

MUNSTER, Ind. (WLS) -- Two men are dead after a murder-suicide in Munster, Ind., police said.

Mario Martinez, 63, of the 5100-block of Dolphin Drive in Portage, Ind., was fatally shot in the 8600-block of Linden Avenue around 6 p.m. Sunday.

He and his brother-in-law, Theodore Surma, of Munster, were both found shot in the street. Police say Martinez, who was shot in the head, is a homicide victim, and a a Glock was found near Surma, who was lying in a snowbank with a gunshot wound to the chest on the east side of the street. Martinez was found shot next to his vehicle.

Police say the two men were part of a business venture together.
