Murdered Loyola student Muhatir Rauf remembered at Mass, walk

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Mass and walk of remembrance were held Sunday morning for a Loyola University student who was killed.

Muhatir Rauf, 23, was shot during an attempted robbery while walking near the school with his brother on Friday night.

Police say Rauf thought the suspect's gun wasn't real and grabbed it, and the gun went off during the struggle.

Sunday morning's Mass was held at the church on campus.

Following the Mass, students joined in a walk of remembrance, walking from the church to the site of the shooting.

No suspects have been named in Rauf's murder.
