Navy Pier celebrates 100th birthday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Navy Pier - a Chicago landmark -- is celebrating its 100 birthday this week.

A big party is planned for this Friday and includes free birthday cheesecake, a free performance of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" and a fireworks show.

Navy Pier was known as municipal pier when it opened July 15, 1916.
