1 dead, 1 injured in East Garfield Park shooting near Monroe, Hamlin

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two women were shot - one fatally - near Monroe and Hamlin in the East Garfield Park neighborhood.

Shambreyh Barfield, 21, died after she was shot in the head around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, the medical examiner said. Another woman, also 21, is recovering after she was shot in the arm.

No one is in custody.
