CHICAGO (WLS) -- Former CPS Chief Paul Vallas has been named a temporary chief administrative officer at Chicago State University on Friday.
Vallas, who was one of four trustees appointed to the university's board in January, resigned earlier this month to pursue the administrative position.
The public university has been plagued by financial and leadership issues.
Hundreds of employees were laid off last year partly because of the state budget crisis.
