Bulls legend Scottie Pippen takes stand in bank fraud trial

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Former Chicago Bull Scottie Pippen has taken the stand for the government in a bank-fraud trial.

The six-time NBA champion testified Friday at Chicago's U.S. District Court building in the trial of Robert Lunn. Lunn has denied trying to defraud clients of more than $3 million.

During 30 minutes on the stand the 49-year-old Pippen told jurors he received financial papers with his signature forged around the time Lunn was his adviser.

At one point Friday Pippen identified Lunn by pointing at him across the courtroom.

Pippen previously sued Lunn after the basketball star lost money in questionable investments that included an airplane. Pippen won a nearly $12 million judgment against Lunn in 2004.

Each count of bank fraud that Lunn faces carries a maximum 30-year prison term.
